Payment & cancellation
US stays are paid by Zelle. After you sign the rental agreement and accept its cancellation terms, the owner sends a private deposit invoice with payment instructions.
A 30% deposit is required to secure your approved booking. The remaining 70% and its due date will be stated in your rental agreement and invoice before you pay.
Read the cancellation policy below. These terms are included in your rental agreement for review and signature before paying the deposit.
Cancellation policy
Stays of 28 nights or more
- 30 or more days before check-in: full refund of all amounts paid, including taxes and cleaning fees.
- Less than 30 days before check-in: the cancellation charge is the rent for up to the first 30 booked nights, capped at the total rent for your stay.
- After check-in: the charge covers nights already used plus up to the next 30 remaining booked nights. Rent for any nights beyond that is refunded.
Stays of fewer than 28 nights
- 14 or more days before check-in: full refund of all amounts paid, including taxes and cleaning fees.
- At least 7 but fewer than 14 days before check-in: 50% of the rent for all booked nights is refundable.
- Less than 7 days before check-in, or after check-in: no refund of the rent for booked nights.
24-hour grace period: for either length of stay, cancel within 24 hours of written booking confirmation for a full refund, provided the booking was confirmed at least 7 days before check-in.
For cancellations before check-in, cleaning and pet fees are refunded. Taxes are refunded or adjusted as required by applicable tax rules. After check-in, fees for services already provided are not refunded.
The 30% deposit is part of the total price, not a limit on cancellation charges. A late-cancellation charge may exceed the deposit; the rental agreement states the payment schedule.
Email cancellation requests to hello@sunshinebayrentals.com. Deadlines are measured from the agreed check-in time in the property’s local time zone, using the time your cancellation email is received. Any mandatory refund rights under applicable law still apply.
